Bishop Arts District

The Bishop Arts District began as several blocks of storefronts built in the early 1900s along the trolley line that fed into downtown Dallas. As the retail landscape and shopping habits changed, the area went into decline, until the 1970s, when artists and small businesses began moving into the vacant storefronts. By the 1990s, the renaissance of the neighborhood had begun, led by locals like developer and community advocate Dave Spence of Good Space. Today, Bishop Arts has grown to become a cultural and business hub of the city that families and young professionals now call home.
